This discussion is closed.

Ok

And so I've been bleach-blonde for a while now but want to go back to my natural colour, or one similar to it, which is light chocolate-brown.

I've heard diverse horror stories about it going green, orange etc.

I take bought a bottle which I retrieve is suitable for bleached hair, simply although its a light brownish colour, on the side of the packet it has pictures of night brown hair condign lighter - will this bleach my hair farther? Will I get orangish?

I have about half an inch of roots at the moment, should I bleach those so practise the whole head, or just go for it as it is?

I'm so scared, I want to become to a hairdresser and take them sort information technology out professionally just I can't afford it on my educatee's budget...

Any tips?

I too want to go from dyed blonde to my natural brown...can't afford hairdresser...whatsoever production advice...equally the OP I don't want it to go icky

You took all the ruby tones out, then at present information technology'southward time to put them back in once more. You should choose a very warm gold blonde, or really scarlet shade and apply to yous hair. This should be left on until you pilus is completely ruddy/ginger in color, probably a expert 25 to 30 mins. This is chosen applying a 'filler' shade.

One time your pilus is really red/ginger, it's time over again to reapply a medium brown colour over the meridian of this. Start with a brown shade that is non too dark in color, as it is always easier to go a shade or ii darker later than it is to end up with hair thats far as well nighttime and having to look until information technology fades or grows out. Again, avoid shades which have lots of red tones in them. You don't need them at present. The result (fingers crossed !) should be a nice even brownish shade.

Ive dyed mine from blonde to brown a few times, and never had whatever issues. Like Lora said, you need to choice something with a reddish tint and attempt that, I used Fructis one and information technology worked fine.

Recently though when Ive done it Ive been going to my hairdressers as I only find the colour lasts longer and my pilus is in better condition, and information technology costs me £35 for an all over colour, which includes a cut, blow dry and straighten.

Just dye it. I dyed mine from bleach blond to blackness a few times when bleaching has gone wrong and it has never gone odd

You took all the reddish tones out, and so at present it's fourth dimension to put them back in again. Y'all should cull a very warm gilt blonde, or really red shade and apply to you hair. This should be left on until you pilus is completely crimson/ginger in colour, probably a good 25 to 30 mins. This is chosen applying a 'filler' shade.

Once your hair is really crimson/ginger, it'south time over again to reapply a medium brown color over the superlative of this. Start with a brown shade that is non likewise dark in colour, as information technology is always easier to get a shade or 2 darker later than information technology is to end up with hair thats far besides nighttime and having to look until it fades or grows out. Over again, avoid shades which have lots of cherry tones in them. You don't need them now. The result (fingers crossed !) should be a overnice fifty-fifty chocolate-brown shade.

Ok then I've had a bit of disaster trying this ... I had my pilus bleached blonde at the hairdressers a while ago and I wanted to go dorsum to brown and so I read upwards on information technology and decided to do this. I wasn't sure well-nigh the filler colour as information technology said red or warm golden blonde which are 2 different colours, then that worried/confused me to start with! In the stop I got a dark red (cherry) color and used that. My hair went reallly nighttime straight away though, it shines coppery but it is and so dark, I don't think I similar it. I bought a brownish to put over it but didn;t use information technology as I thought the first colour is so dark, this brownish won't do anything!
SO I'm not sure what to do at present, I desire it lighter (or kind of similar the brown colour I accept) only is it going to be hard, and should I try the brown?
Aid appreciated! give thanks youu

honestly only get to a hairdressers. Vidal sassoon and tony and guy always want models for colours. I am currently sat with a full head of brown die going over my bleach blonde. I know for a fact it will go like dirty dish water but its something you have to put upwardly with afterwards strippping your pilus for years with bleach. I turn down to put red tones into my pilus considering they dont budge easy or accommodate me and so im going for a light brown. I know i volition have to dye information technology like every other calendar week merely in no time it will exist alot healthier!

To go light you need the dark color faded, dying it brown might simply requite it a tinge only aught else. Either you grow it out or get to a hairdresser because if you don't know what yous are doing you lot're pretty probable to mess upwardly your hair trying to lighten it

You didn't even demand this filler thing that everyone'southward going on near...I wanted my hair to be brown again back from blonde and I just bought a john frieda mousse dye and dyed information technology, it was fine. I'k not a hairdresser or anything but I've had pretty much every colour nether the sun, I've never done a filler. If you did a cherry-red one you're going to accept blood-red tones which NEVER seem to get out...I dyed my hair blood-red before summer, bleached it, and now information technology's night brown again merely the ruby-red tones are coming dorsum through. I don't know why anyone told you to put cherry-red in, at the hairdresser they never practise a "filler" colour! Become to a hairdresser or you're going to be stuck with red, it might not cost equally much as you call up!

Information technology may look similar hairdressers dont utilize a 'filler', (pre grunter) but if you have no hairdressing experience/grooming you have no idea how circuitous colouring tin can exist sometimes its enough to apply a brown base eg v but use a 5/3 or five/5 and mixing this with a double base of operations eg 55/0 this may look like one colour being practical but the tone makes the difference , if the pilus is porous this can as well alter things information technology compleatly depends on what you have on your hair to start with and the condition of it. There is a reason why qualifications are nessesary in hairdressing irs actually not that uncomplicated and for anyone thats been lucky enough to home color and its been fine then fair play but it doesnt ever work that way, pre pigmentation is nessesary for the end color concluding and you dont need to stop upward with cerise tones either......... leave information technology to the professionals i say

I dyed my bleached platinum pilus a medium blonde, which was like pretty dark blonde, and so did a brown dye on top, no greenish hair and no hassles 10

When people say blood-red to fill up it, they mean a red toned dye, similar a coppery brownish or something, not literally ruddy! red hangs around similar a bad smell! . Basically when your hair is platinum blonde/a very light blonde information technology has green tones, and to make certain that your brown hair is not too dull or 'greenish-ish' you fill it first. It is as well to help you lot gradually go to your colour, every bit going from very light to very dark can be risky. But sure everybody'due south hair is different and so some people may exist able to but get straight to that colour! they are most probable able to practise that considering they have always dyed their hair blonde and stayed a consistent colour. If you've been a meg and one dissimilar colours then i'd try a filler.

You lot need to deport with it. Information technology will fade trust me in a hairdresser of ten years wen it fades more red volition bear witness but merely go the color yous desire I propose you go to somewhere like. Sallys a hair and beauty supplier and purchase a tube they had toners built in colour unlike these box dyes. U will need something like a six.one or a seven.i to tone out the scarlet besides continue it lighter as that colour you lot accept on will have faded alot because y'all take been bleach blonde and so your hair is very porous which will grab color easily but also throws sure tones out. Hope this helped

Sounds similar you gone overboard with red which didn't needed to be cerise is a bugger to get rid of if in that location is alot of cerise u demand ash tone to reduce it simply be careful every bit you been bleach blonde depends if there is alot of scarlet simply I can't encounter if there is just picayune just put a brown on a 6 or a 5 someone volition aid y'all at a hair and beauty supplier

I dyed my highlighted blonde hair with an ash brown, which is similar to my natural colour. It did go e'er so slightly green. I agree with the folks that recommend a ruddy based dye. Mine went greenish because it was a cool colour that lacked the warm cherry tone. I dyed it a warm dark-brown after that. Not ruby, only a gold or caramel brown. I am blonde atm and its growing out fast and i think this time I will go my hairdresser to dye it my natural color. At a decent bit cheaply priced salon u tin can get it all done for about £thirty. But if u cant afford it id recommend dying it chestnut/caramel/golden brown or even dark blonde. They always come out darker and often dark blonde is calorie-free brown anyway!

I take the aforementioned dilemma- bleach blonde to dark-brown & was going to use a filler. Just when yous say dye information technology with the reddy tone & then the brownish, how soon practice you mean? Similar directly after? Or practice I need to wait a while before I tin can?
Thank y'all!!

Hi, I went to the hairdressers this week (for the first time in years) I had a restyle and all over color with highlights. I am naturally moused blonde, but had dyed my pilus blonder two years ago. I wanted a nighttime blonde colour (it looks brown on the nautical chart) but the over all colour has a red tinge that I don't like. Later the fist wash (used color protective shampoo) the brown has faded and information technology is more than of a ruddy/pink tinge. Any ideas what colour I tin put all over to get rid of the cherry-red? I accept read the above posts, merely I am dislocated!! Thankyou x

im dying a friends hair from light blonde to chocolate-brown and she has half an inch of roots when putting the ruby cooper tone back in the pilus do I exercise it all over including the roots or simply where the bleach blonde is ???

Employ a chocolate colour based brownish dye as these had red tones in them which counteracts the possibility of dark-green

If you go dorsum to art classes in the school days, Dark-green and Cherry-red are opposite each other on the colour bicycle so they counteract each other out.

Just like why you should utilize royal shampoo to help calm yellow tones in your hair!

Like i say, just goodbye a chocolate brownish colour and use this, if it is not dark plenty so utilise a natural brown dye
