What You Don't Understand

Sour IPA

Brewed in collaboration with our friends at Alliance Brewing Co., What You Don't Understand is a hoppy sour ale with a hazy straw gold appearance. It features strong aromas of lemon zest, orange pith, tropical fruit and SweeTARTS. Pleasantly tart from start to finish! This is a continuation of the gradual release of our four-way collaboration, where four Knoxville breweries took wort from a batch of our Classic Saison to give it their own creative spin.

Hazy Session IPA

This will be your favorite beer of the summer! Crushable at a low 4.7% ABV, bursting with juicy hop flavors and aromas of orange citrus balanced with pine and resin. We brewed this beer to raise funds for Pelotonia, a nonprofit with an audacious goal to end cancer through innovative cancer research. BFB will donate $1 from each pour and $1 from each 4-pack sold to Pelotonia's efforts. Learn more at Pelotonia.org.

Wild Ale

This collaboration between Yee-Haw Brewing and Blackberry Farm is a complex blend of two styles of mixed fermentation sours. One part of the beer began as a blend of two types of Foeder Aged beer that was then dry-hopped with Nectaron hops from New Zealand. The second is heavily fruited Saison that features over 1000 lbs. of fruits like red prickly pear, cherry, plum, raspberry & blackberry and that fermentation occurred on Amburana wood chips from Brazil. The two beers were then further blended together to create a truly unique collaborative effort.

BFB Stout

American Stout

This robust, hoppy stout is a hearty welcome on a brisk evening, but balanced and drinkable for enjoying year-round. In addition to a complex roasted malt character of coffee and dark chocolate, a hefty addition of American hops adds bright, distinctive layers of tropical fruits, citrus and pine.

Kolsch

A German-style ale with lager characteristics, this is one of the few remaining ales of Germany. Similar to a Pilsner, fermented with ale yeast at cooler temperatures and cold lagered. Goat Hill has a bready malt character, with a clean, crisp Noble hop aroma, flavor and finish.

IPL (India Pale Lager)

Brewed like an American IPA, fermented and matured like a lager, this aggressively hopped beer features fruity, citrus and pine notes of New World hops, but uses lager yeast in a cold fermentation and long lagering period with a result that is the best of both worlds: bold hop flavors and aroma, with the dry, crisp, smooth finish of a patiently made lager beer.

Stonefly V.12 IPL (Galaxy)

India Pale Lager

A continuation of our experiments with IPA style beers fermented with lager yeast. This version of Stonefly is brewed with our normal IPA base, dry hopped with Galaxy, and fermented with our house lager strain. Aromas of Grapefruit rind, berries, honey and ripe melon are accentuated by a clean subtle lager ferment. The palette has an assertive bitterness balanced by citrus and tropical fruit.
